About "The Appalachian"
In this blog series, I will share my thoughts and experiences on various topics related to the Appalachian region of the United States. As someone native to the area, I have ideas that might be considered eccentric to some. I aim to give people a deeper look into how the area is actually shaped. This is a firsthand dive, rather than simply labeling without researching or understanding the feelings of individuals born and raised in the region. This will contrast with my comparative page of content, "The Californian."

Adreanna Hamby is an author, writer, and independent journalist, originally born and raised in the rural Appalachian mountains. A native of Princeton, West Virginia, she spent most of her young adult life traveling and having adventures before eventually settling in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California.
